We are seeking an experienced, motivated and hands-on Senior Engineering Lead drive the product of our seed-stage corporate venture to MVP.
Having recently closed seed funding and launched an internal pilot, we are looking to move the product to an MVP stage, which can scale up on number off users and functionalities. This requires the technical team to grow and build a well-architected foundation that can scale and be extended easily in the future.
What will you be doing?
You will be responsible to work with the founding team to own technical architecture of product and infrastructure to set standards and lead the development:
- Technical Architecture & Governance: Architect and implement product, infrastructure and technical processes by setting principles and standards
- Product Development: Participate and lead the development and troubleshooting of the product
- Team Building & People Growth: Building, managing and setting a positive example for a high-performing technical team by guiding junior members and setting quality standards
Specifically, this will entail:
- Set strong technical/architectural foundations, implementing good design practices and principles in software development
- Review current infrastructure design and draft proposals to develop and deploy scalable technologies
- Design systems with large-scaled databases, micro-services, and distributed computing technologies
- Lead and organise engineering projects, ensuring resource optimization
- Department planning, including setting of department goals and OKRs
- Planning, management and execution of technical project plans, ensuring on-time delivery
- Coordinate project management, software architects, and other engineering teams in determining overall system solutions
What should you bring with you?
To succeed, you should have the following experiences and skills:
- Bachelor's or ideally Master's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or related with 7+ years of work as software architect
- Experience leading tech teams to successfully deliver complex technology products at a startup or core-tech corporation
- Solid experience architecting and implementing micro-services, RESTful web services and containerised systems
- Solid experience in the full technology stack across cloud infrastructure (AWS), databases (relational, NoSQl, graph, etc. ), backend (GoLang, JS, Java), and frontend (JS, Flutter, etc.) technologies
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to create clarity and share this understanding across diverse teams and settings in both written and spoken
- Advanced understanding of modern software development (agile), testing (test-driven-development) and DevOps (CI/CD) practices and methodologies
- A healthy balance of wanting to experiment, dive in and getting your hands dirty and architecting scalable, performant and maintainable solutions
- A deep care and understanding for end users and an interest in why the business is trying to achieve the user goals
