SC Ventures is Standard Chartered’s innovation, fintech investment and ventures arm. We were established to reinvent banking, as the significant technological disruptions to the industry was impacting its ability to serve clients and customers, in the ways they needed to be served.

We are a unique ecosystem of innovators, banking experts, business builders and partners who are focused on rewiring the DNA in banking and bringing breakthrough ideas to scale, together.

We are building ecosystems around four high conviction themes: Online Economy & Lifestyle, SMEs & World Trade, Digital Assets, and Sustainability & Inclusion.

We are a global team of "Members" (excluding individual ventures), including dedicated colleagues from the Group's support functions, based in Singapore, Hong Kong, London, the United Arab Emirates and Israel.

Responsibilities:

· Driving and advising on development process of a portfolio of early stage ventures in incubation. This covers sourcing, selecting, and incubating the ventures through the entire journey from ideation through to acceleration and commercialisation.

· Advise and coach the wider venture team on operational and executional excellence.

· Continuously evolve and improve the effectiveness of the venture building discipline.

· Assist with operational aspects of new ventures in the portfolio and provide executional support and guidance.

· Ensure milestones are being effectively worked towards, being on top of the portfolio of ventures and acting as an all-round problem solver

· Work effectively with the cross functional partners

· Co-ordination and assistance with recruitment and set up of core founding and second-level teams for different ventures in incubation.

· Advising C level teams with external fundraising efforts

· Introductions to relevant regional and local partners in the ecosystem

Requirements:

Our Ideal Candidate

· 10+ years of relevant work experience with experience working with entrepreneurs, start-ups labs, incubators, VCs or incubation consultancy

· An experienced and highly capable individual with direct relevant experience of venture incubation/building and/or having experience as a co-founder of successful start ups, ideally within the banking and/or technology space.

· Expertise and passion for continuous learning, as reflected in mentoring and being mentored within the VC startup ecosystem

· Ability and willingness to optimise connections within the VC startup ecosystem and in the Bank, to connect intrapreneurs and venture leads with relevant resources as and when required

· MBA or Bachelor’s degree

Role Specific Technical Competencies

· Proven experience in managing a diverse portfolio of venture companies, from various stages of incubation, acceleration and commercialisation

· Expertise in enabling venture leads to develop their go-to-market strategies and financial projections

· Proven ability to provide continued strategic and intensive guidance to entrepreneurs in areas such as business modelling, sales and marketing, financing, fundraising, overall strategy, operations, etc.
