What’s the role?
The BQuant Sales team works closely with Bloomberg clients to implement quantitative investment strategies and research using our Python Quant development platform - BQuant. Powered by Jupyter, our quant platform combines world-class open source Python libraries with one of the world's leading financial database, allowing our clients to generate unique research in quantitative finance and helping them to capture alpha in a highly competitive landscape. The team applies advanced data science technologies to generate real world investment models and is involved in full life-cycle development, from initial pitches to clients, requirement gathering, prototyping, implementation, deployment and adoption.

We’re looking for a versatile and successful sales professional to be based in Singapore, covering the Singapore and ASEAN markets. You will develop a business vision and build expertise within the quant data and technology community, so that you can build successful sales strategies, and maximize the significant opportunities that are in front of us. You'll work closely with clients and prospects to gain a clear understanding of their business needs, and provide consultative solutions to foster and strengthen relationships. You will also manage internal relationships concisely and with tact across Core Sales, Implementations, Product, Project Management Office, Negotiations, and Software Engineering departments, whilst simultaneously managing customer expectations.

The right person will be hungry and excited for the opportunity to join one of the newest and fastest-growing segments of Bloomberg's product offerings that comes at a time when the shift in the industry to using data science and programmatic techniques is clear. You will hone your pitch by actively listening and consulting on client use cases, and bring back valuable information on where client gaps provide opportunities.

We'll trust you to:

  • Drive annual sales and revenue targets for our quant solutions product suite
  • Lead enterprise sales engagements from beginning to end, fully maximizing your experience in financial market data and technology
  • Identify client needs by demonstrating expertise in the financial services market, as well as our quant development platform
  • Acquire and maintain a good understanding of clients’ quant strategies and plans for automation and cloud migration
  • Produce clear, concise proposals with an appropriate level of detail that identifies client challenges and how our solutions can address them
  • Establish and execute on strategies for your target market, generate new pipeline, manage the deal process through the various stages of the sales cycle, and ultimately hit your annual sales target
  • Form relationships across client organizations to ensure that all partners are led appropriately as part of the sales process
  • Balance engagements across the sales life-cycle to maintain desired pipeline levels for long, medium, and short-term sales
  • Interact with various level of stakeholders including C-level executives

You’ll need to have:

  • Minimum 5 years' sales experience in Financial Services or a Financial Technology company
  • Experience with Python, machine learning / natural language processing, and cloud technology
  • Experience leading senior level client conversations gained within the past 5 years
  • Proven track record in achieving or exceeding sales targets in B2B fintech sales
  • Experience establishing, developing and maintaining key relationships, including senior client relationships at CxO level, driving new business and expanding current client revenues
  • Self motivation and be proactive, comfortable in a fast paced client-driven environment
  • A strategic mind set and demonstrable commercial acumen
  • Strong presentation and communication skills in English
  • Demonstrated continuous career growth within an organisation
  • Bachelor’s degree or degree equivalent qualifications

We'd love to see:

  • Knowledge of other programming languages such as R, VBA, SQL or similar
