We’re looking to add a Senior Engineer, NPI Process in Singapore. The position is based in our HQ at Ang Mo Kio.
As a Senior Engineer, NPI Process, you will:
Serves as an important role in the planning and execution of activities required to manufacture a product (Electro-Mechanical assemblies) from design concept stage until launch into mass production stage, by participate in different phases of product development and proto build stages. You will develop manufacturing process flow and standard procedures to execute processes established and practiced in the NPI organization of R&D Department.
The key responsibilities are as below:
- Develop and optimize manufacturing process flow and manufacturing layout for both prototype and production phases.
- Prepare detailed manufacturing assembly work instructions and ensure BOM structure aligns with the planned process strategy.
- Create inspection checklists for assembly and final goods to ensure quality control throughout the build process and prior to shipment.
- Estimate manufacturing cycle time and manpower requirements for planning and efficiency.
- Design, develop, and qualify assembly and sub-assembly fixtures to support efficient manufacturing.
- Conduct PFMEA and DFA studies, working closely with the Design team to identify potential risks and implement design/process improvements.
- Collaborate with Design and Manufacturing teams to execute assembly line commissioning and validate manufacturing processes.
- Lead and oversee build execution, ensuring consistent progress communication to the project team.
- Monitor manufacturing issues, drive root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Conduct operator training and support knowledge transfer to the manufacturing site team for mass production readiness.
- Prepare comprehensive documentation including process deliverables, assembly instructions, and packaging guidelines with appropriate labeling.
- Coordinate with customers to define traceability requirements and implement solutions through DGS setup and execution.
What skills and experiences are we looking for?
- Degree in Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering, and/or equivalent working experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in New Product Introduction of electro-mechanical products in collaboration with R&D Design Team, Customer and Manufacturing Operations is desired.
- Familiar with 2D and 3D drawings of assembly and parts.
- Familiar with jigs/fixture development and validation, implement process to achieve the quality/yield target.
- Well versed with BOM structuring, implement ECN, cycle time study, line balancing, manpower requirement analysis, and standard manufacturing processes documents.
- Independently able to drive and perform PFMEA, and plan for mitigation implementations.
- Ability to identify DFA issues/potential manufacturing issues upfront and propose Poka Yoke solutions for design improvement.
- Efficient in oral and written communication, and preparation of presentation slides/materials
