We are looking for a meticulous and proactive Finance Assistant Manager to join our internal finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial accounting and fund management, with relevant experience supporting or working with non-bank financial institutions, such as asset management firms, insurance companies, or fintechs. This role will support financial operations, ensure compliance with Singapore's regulatory standards, and contribute to strategic fund management decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Accounting & Reporting
Manage day-to-day financial operations and ensure timely closing of monthly and annual accounts.
Prepare accurate financial reports, management accounts, and statutory filings (IRAS, ACRA, etc.) in compliance with Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS).
Liaise with external auditors and tax agents to ensure successful audits and compliance.
Fund & Project Accounting
Track and manage client-related fund flows, especially in retainer/project-based consulting models.
Monitor project profitability, billing cycles, and ensure proper revenue recognition in line with accounting standards.
Work closely with project teams to align financial tracking with engagement performance.
Budgeting & Forecasting
Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and rolling forecasts.
Provide variance analysis and actionable insights to senior management for financial decision-making.
Support business unit leaders with financial data related to client engagements and operational planning.
Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure compliance with relevant MAS guidelines where applicable (especially when servicing regulated clients).
Maintain proper documentation and internal controls to mitigate financial risk.
Operational Finance Support
Oversee accounts payable, receivable, and cash flow management.
Support implementation and improvement of finance-related systems and processes.
Supervise junior finance staff and ensure adherence to internal policies.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or equivalent (CPA, CA Singapore, ACCA preferred).
Minimum 4–6 years of relevant experience in financial accounting and/or fund accounting roles.
Experience in a consulting environment or servicing financial institutions (non-banking sector) is highly preferred.
Solid understanding of Singapore tax and regulatory requirements.
Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, or mid-tier ERP systems).
Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with cross-functional teams.
Analytical mindset and high attention to detail.
Desirable:
Prior experience in a fast-paced consulting or professional services firm.
Exposure to clients in the asset management, insurance, or fintech sectors.
Familiarity with engagement-based revenue recognition and project financial tracking.
