About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Chief of Staff, Finance to support our CFO in driving the financial strategy and operations of our rapidly growing Company. This is a critical role that will provide exposure to all aspects of finance within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, a problem solver, and a strong communicator with a passion for the fintech space. This role will report directly to the CFO.
Finance Lifecycle Strategic Projects: Lead and manage strategic projects across the finance lifecycle, including but not limited to:
- New financial system implementations and finance operation process improvements relating to financial controlling, FP&A, treasury, credit underwriting and portfolio monitoring
- Strategic planning initiatives and projects relating to business plan and scenario modelling
- Post-merger integration
- Fundraising support (due diligence)
- Market research and industry trends analysis that inform financial decision-making.
Financial Risk & Finance Function Governance: Animate and facilitate the Financial Risk Team’s governance - ensuring effective communication, collaboration, and execution of risk management initiatives. This includes:
- Working with risk owners to identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks.
- Developing and maintaining risk reporting and dashboards.
- Ensuring alignment with overall company risk strategy.
- Coordinating governance meetings, preparing executive and board reports.
- Assist with budget preparation & monitoring.
- Supporting the development and implementation of finance policies and procedures.
You will be required to work closely with other departments within the organization, such as product, engineering, and operations, to ensure alignment on financial goals and initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in finance transformation and financial risk management, preferably within the fintech or payments industry.
- Strong understanding of financial statements and accounting principles.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Experience with financial modeling and data analysis tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Experience in a startup environment is a plus.
- Passion for the fintech industry and a desire to make a significant impact.
