Job Description

About the Role

We seek a dynamic Payment Operations Specialist to lead payment channel management, optimize user payment experiences, and drive compliance in Singapore's fast-evolving fintech landscape. This role requires expertise in cross-border payments, digital assets, and PSP collaboration, with a focus on innovation in Web3 and blockchain ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities

1. Payment Channel Management & Optimization

  • Manage end-to-end operations for global and local payment channels (cards, e-wallets, cryptocurrency, PayNow, FAST, etc.), ensuring seamless transaction processing.
  • Monitor payment success rates, diagnose failure root causes, and optimize routing strategies for Singapore and ASEAN markets.
  • Partner with PSPs (e.g., Stripe, Adyen, local gateways) to enhance system capabilities and expand payment method coverage.

2. Payment Product Operations

  • Execute payment product launches and upgrades tailored to Singapore MAS regulations and regional user behaviors.
  • Propose data-driven enhancements (e.g., QRIS integration, recurring payments) to boost conversion rates and reduce latency.
  • Collaborate with tech teams to implement real-time fraud detection and blockchain-based settlement solutions.

3. Data Analytics & Risk Compliance

  • Analyze transactional trends, flag anomalies, and refine AML/CFT controls aligned with Singapore's Payment Services Act (PSA).
  • Work with Legal/Compliance teams to ensure adherence to PDPA, GDPR, and cryptocurrency licensing frameworks.

4. User-Centric Optimization

  • Resolve pain points through UX testing and localized payment education (e.g., multi-language guides for SG/MY/ID users).
  • Drive initiatives to increase adoption of crypto-fiat gateways and tokenized payment solutions.

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Finance, CX, and Engineering teams to resolve escalated payment issues within SLA.
  • Lead post-incident reviews to strengthen system stability and uptime metrics.

Requirements

Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Computer Science, or related field; MAS regulatory certifications (e.g., FIMM) a plus.
  • 2+ years in payment operations, preferably in fintech, crypto exchanges, or neobanks with SEA market exposure.
  • Hands-on experience with SG payment rails (e.g., PayNow, MEPS+), PCI-DSS standards, and Web3 wallets/DeFi protocols.

Technical Competencies

  • Proficient in payment analytics tools (SQL, Tableau) and PSP APIs.
  • Strong grasp of cryptocurrency settlement workflows and liquidity management.
  • Familiarity with Singapore’s eKYC requirements and Travel Rule compliance.

Soft Skills

  • Agile problem-solving mindset for high-pressure scenarios (e.g., outage management).
  • Ability to simplify technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Fluency in English (written/spoken); Mandarin proficiency advantageous for APAC collaboration.

Culture Fit

  • Passion for blockchain innovation and hyperlocal payment trends.
  • Thrives in multicultural teams with a "regulatory-first" approach.
