The Role
We are looking for a highly strategic and execution-driven Head of Payments to lead and scale our payments business unit. You will be responsible for driving commercial outcomes, owning the unit’s P&L, and shaping our long-term payments roadmap.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Unit Ownership:
Own the full P&L and performance of the payments business unit. Set and drive the strategic direction, with accountability for revenue targets, cost management, and operational excellence. Build and lead a high-performing team as the business grows. - Strategy & Market Execution:
Develop and implement the global payments strategy, prioritizing high-impact customer segments, market opportunities, and product initiatives. Co-own the GTM strategy with Product, Sales, and Marketing to ensure commercial success across key markets. - Product & Solution Development:
Define and align the payments roadmap in partnership with Product and Engineering. Deliver integrated payment solutions across traditional rails, stablecoins, and on/off-chain infrastructure, informed by customer feedback and market trends. - Commercial Management:
Lead commercial and pricing strategy, optimizing for transaction margins, capital efficiency, and long-term sustainability of the payments business. - Regulatory & Compliance Oversight:
Collaborate with the Management and Compliance team to ensure operations meet all relevant KYC/AML, fraud, and licensing requirements across jurisdictions. - Cross-functional Leadership:
Work closely with cross-functional teams including Compliance, Legal, Risk, Engineering, and Operations to deliver payments initiatives and resolve dependencies. - Partner Development:
Build and manage strategic partnerships with financial institutions, infrastructure providers, and key customers to drive adoption and product innovation. - Performance Management:
Set KPIs, build operational reporting structures, and regularly report progress to company leadership on commercial, product, and strategic milestones.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in payments, fintech, or financial services, with 5+ years in a leadership role.
- Demonstrated success in building and scaling payment products or business units across multiple markets, with a deep understanding of both traditional and crypto-native payment rails.
- Strong strategic and analytical capabilities, with a track record of driving revenue growth, managing cost structures, and improving unit economics.
- Deep working knowledge of regulatory and compliance frameworks, including KYC/AML, payment licensing, and risk management across global jurisdictions.
- Experience negotiating and managing strategic partnerships with banks, PSPs, and blockchain infrastructure providers.
- Strong grasp of capital flows, transaction settlement, FX, and liquidity considerations in global payments.
- Excellent communication, decision-making, and executive reporting skills.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, and high-growth environment.
