Trade Finance Operations Lead

Reporting to Head, Operations

As part of the Operations Team, the successful candidate with be responsible for managing the entire trade finance processes for the platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures and implement KPIs and reporting
  • Review the workflows regularly and document the updates/changes
  • Be the internal expert for operational knowledge pertaining to end-to-end trade finance operational flow from client onboarding to settlement
  • Oversee the processing, verification, reconciliation of financing activities
  • Oversee the customer onboarding process, from KYC till customer goes live
  • Oversee customer service operations and ensures customer satisfaction with post-sales customer service
  • Ensure hands-on support to internal stakeholders across Product, Business Development, Technology, Risk Management, and Compliance to ensure smooth operation of our platform
  • Provide assurance that the delivery of platform services is of the required quality and adheres to regulatory requirements (working closely with Compliance)
  • Lead Operations related projects, transformation plans, and system development/upgrade/implementation
  • Provide strong leadershsip in ensuring clear roles and responsibilities within Operations and with other functions to ramp up new products on time and on budget.

Required Profile

  • 10-12 years of experience in Trade Finance Operations, preferably including some experience at early stage Fintech firms or systems consultancy
  • Degree in computer science, information systems or related discipline
  • Experience in system implementation including feasibility study, requirement gathering, system and data analysis, project execution, user acceptance testing, system migration would be given preference
  • Experience in ERP solutions esp. order management systems, Fintech Platform and Reporting tools like powerBI, Congnos
  • Able to liaise with business stakeholders to analyze their needs and advise on concerns and solutions
  • Able to communicate with data engineers / scientists, DBA, programmers to explain the business requirements and evaluate their proposals
  • Knowledge in KYC for onboarding suppliers / buyers
  • Having a knack for identifying gaps, reducing the turn around time, well versed with automating processes
