Reporting to the Chief Legal, Compliance, and Risk Officer, the Global Head of Legal is responsible for the full range of legal matters of the Airwallex Group globally and for the delivery of legal services to all stakeholders within the Airwallex Group. This includes devising legal strategies to facilitate the launch and growth of Airwallex products globally, supervising the team on the application of licenses in new markets, overseeing the regulatory compliance function, and leading the legal team on all other general corporate/commercial areas such as corporate governance, fundraising, IP, disputes, data protection, etc. The Global Head of Legal will manage and supervise the global legal team, which consists of regional teams located in Asia, Australia, the UK, the EU, and the US.

Some examples of what you would be working on include:
• Provide practical legal guidance on how to navigate rules and regulations for the launch of Airwallex's products in different regions.
• Advise senior management on the licensing strategy in new markets and lead the team on license applications.
• Work with the compliance and risk teams globally to align Airwallex's policies.
• Supervise fundraising, and provide legal support on strategic initiatives and other corporate transactions.
• Deal with disputes and litigation.

Skills and experience you will bring:
• 20+ years of legal experience
• Bachelor of Laws or Juris Doctor
• Legal qualification in a major country
• A keen interest in financial services regulation and the fintech industry
• Experience managing a team
