Job Description
Thought Machine's mission is bold - to properly and permanently rid the world's banks of legacy technology. To achieve this, we have developed the foundations of modern banking and built core and payments technology which runs natively in the cloud. What we are attempting is hard and means we need great people working together to build great technology.

We have grown rapidly in the past few years - growing our team to more than 500 individuals across offices in London, New York, Singapore, Sydney and Melbourne. We have raised more than $500m in funding and are now valued at $2.7bn. Our investors include Molten Ventures, Eurazeo, Intesa Sanpaolo, Temasek, Nyca Partners, JPMorgan Chase, Standard Chartered, and more.

We have created a culture enabling our team to produce the best work in the industry, ensuring we have fun along the way. We're regularly cited as having a fantastic workplace culture and have been recognised by Sifted magazine as having one of the highest Glassdoor ratings for a UK fintech company and the most generous employee share package in the industry. We've been named in the IDC list of top 100 fintechs, CB Insights' top 250 fintech companies in the world, and achieved global awards for our workplace culture and client work.

As we grow our global client base and prove Vault's Smart Contract capabilities to the market, having a robust process to support the movement of large back-books of existing accounts onto Vault becomes increasingly important to support ongoing growth. Accordingly, data migration is a key focus area for Thought Machine over the next 12-18 months and we are looking for a Migration SME to join our global Migrations Discipline. The Migrations Discipline is responsible for shaping our data migration strategies, testing and proving our migration capability.

Specifically the Migration SME will be responsible for;

  • Using the Thought Machine test hub, design and run technical migration functional and non-functional tests against Vault
  • Setting up / proving likely client migration pipeline set-ups - testing different API load approaches, reconciling against streamed Vault data and rectifying inaccuracies.
(ii) Supporting the development of our Migration Capability:
  • Analysing upcoming product features to enhance our migration capability
  • Documenting technical migration guidance for client facing colleagues to use on client engagements - e.g. Vault migration load approaches, best practice, etc.
(iii) SME support for live migration delivery programmes:
  • On occasion, work directly with Thought Machine's client's to understand their migration requirements, advise on Vault migration capabilities, and support as needed throughout the migration lifecycle
  • Supporting client discussions at key touchpoints (e.g. load performance & planning)
  • Supporting Thought Machine client delivery teams in understanding migration as a concept and the Vault approach, providing SME advice and input as required
