Job Description

  • Added industry exposure gained in a trading/ manufacturing/ commodity trading set up is useful but this is not a must.
  • Has experience dealing with overseas office in Europe and US

Our client is a renowned chemical trading MNC based in town.  The company is focused on marketing, sales and operations of a chemical product whereby the company is a leading Global marketer. The co is active in all major regions, covering Americas /Europe/Asia and handling 5 million metric tonnes of product with over US$2 billion turnover annually.

For this role, you play a hands-on FM role reporting to the MD based in Singapore and the global FD based in Europe HQ. You will not be managing staff and will play a wide ranging finance role.

Finance Manager

Responsibilities

  • Provides the Finance (Accounting, Tax, Treasury, Credit Control) for the Business Line-activities in the country based on the SLA and in the corporate frame
  • Ensure integrity of the accounting records by implementing proper internal control procedures.
  • Well manage the relationship with local tax bureau, the related government officers, internal & external auditors & parties.
  • Handle treasury activities, including cash, bank accounts, credit line and hedging.
  • Implement an efficient credit control system and manage receivable to limit company’s commercial risk.
  • Ensure financial statements & accounting treatments are in conformity with local accounting, fiscal, Foreign Exchange & other requirements as well as corporate standards.
  • Prepare and timely submit management reports, forecast, budget and financial analysis
  • Closely work with colleagues in EU locally or at Asia level and with colleagues in corporate globally
  • Continuously optimizes the Finance (Accounting, Tax, Treasury, Credit Control) Services to improve end-to-end-process efficiency

Requirements

  • University Degree in Business finance or accounting
  • Min 7 years plus dedicated knowledge in Finance (Accounting, Tax, Treasury, Credit Control) some of which are gained with MNCs.
  • Added industry exposure gained in a trading/ manufacturing/ commodity trading set up is useful but this is not a must.
  • Has experience dealing with overseas office in Europe and US
  • Experience in handling Insurance related issues for a trading/manufacturing set up is preferred (but not a must)
  • Experience in handling Legal related issues for a trading/manufacturing company is beneficial (but not a must as this is not a key aspect)
  • Good command of spoken and written English. Ability to speak Mandarin (writing and reading Chinese) is preferred as there will communication in Mandarin required with some colleagues that comes with the role.
  • High intercultural openness and experience/ competence
  • Solid knowledge of local regulation and standards related to Finance & Accounting
  • Has a stable cv. Also thrive in a hands-on FM role in a boutique sized office in Singapore, though there will also be interaction with colleagues in US and Europe.

The co is based in town and offers WFH arrangement 2 days in a week.
