Job Description

The Collections Officer is responsible for executing the Collections operations and strategies (call centre, skip tracing, legal and working with External Collection Agencies if need be) for consumer and SME portfolios. 

Job Responsibilities:

Manage the delinquent portfolio end-to-end; from early delinquencies to non-performing and write-offs

Monitor and control delinquency, minimise credit losses and improve resolution rates through effective digital strategies

Provide regular updates to management on delinquency trends, early warning signals from the newly booked portfolio and flow rate velocity and recovery indicators 

Achieve the productivity standard set for the team and individual KPI

Call and follow-up with customers to secure payment plans

Review and execute appropriate Collections actions like legal, restructure and settlements to recover debt and minimise credit losses

Work with solicitors and outsourced collections agencies on assigned cases

Partner with product teams and business units to coordinate Collection’s activities across the bank

Take on additional projects and tasks assigned by reporting manager

Our Ideal Candidate:

Have at least 3-years of collections experience

Well versed in the bank products and processes

Good understanding of technology in the digital banking space

Possess strong written, communication and negotiation skills

Proficient in Microsoft applications, Macro VBA and SQL a plus
