Job Description
Role Responsibilities
  • Standard Chartered Bank has embarked on an ambitious journey to revolutionize the Trade client digital journey by developing several client facing solutions that compete not just with the Financial Institutions but also with the new breed of Fintech companies. The revenue ambitions of the Trade business for 2023 are $1.4B and product & digital integration core to ensuring this vision is delivered and is responsible to drive the Trade data agenda with our corporate and institutional clients.
  • Deliver best-in-class transaction banking products to meet clients and business needs globally. This role manages the product development for Trade Finance Platforms and looks into ongoing enhancements and development of the platform.
  • In this role the individual acts as Product Owner, responsible for leading an agile squad to deliver solutions to meet our changing business and client requirements, aligned with product vision and roadmap in partnership with key stakeholders- Global, Regional & Local Product Managers Global Technology and Operations.
  • Lead the agile team as Product Owner to deliver the product build roadmap to support the business growth and strategy.
Strategy
  • Standard Chartered Bank has embarked on an ambitious journey to deliver cross CCIB digital/automated capability to enable end to end product processing for Trade Finance with a focus on client and risk mitigation.  
Business
  • This function is part of Trade Finance Product Development and will focus on delivery of system functionalities for Trade finance products.
Processes
  • Candidate will have a key role in building innovative product capabilities, influence change, commercialize capabilities and enable our platform in 40+ countries. You will be responsible to take the ideas through implementation in Agile Methodology as a "Product Owner". You will continuously evaluate the ever-changing financial ecosystem and related emerging technologies in collaboration with our technology partners

  • Candidate will ensure adherence to all aspects of the documented standards applicable to your role
Key stakeholders
  • Trade Finance Business Stakeholders across Product, Sales and support functions. interface teams - Channels, Finance, Credit etc.
Other Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of solutions aligned to the business strategy, released on time, on budget and with high quality. 
  • Partner with product engineering heads to develop Innovation domain roadmaps
  • Support implementation of Cloud-based SaaS/PaaS/IaaS offerings for Trade Finance Solutions and leverage cloud enabled technologies and toolset
  • Strategy alignment in the following pillars- Machine Learning Pipeline / Tool Strategy / Platform Strategy; Third-Party Platform / in-house Strategy
Our Ideal Candidate
  • The ideal candidate is expected to have an 13+ years of Banking experience with 10 years of experience in Trade Finance.
  • Experience in product development and digital solutions is preferred.
