About the role:

As the Assistant Accounting Manager/ Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining the accounting records for certain entities within the Aspire Group. You will report directly to the Accounting Manager and Head of Accounting. We are looking for a responsible and resilient individual who is eager to take charge in resolving issues related to Accounting, Finance and Operations.

What will you be doing?
  • Perform the month end close related to Aspire's business including activities related to: Cards revenue, Lending revenue, Fixed Assets, Intercompany and Expense accruals.
  • Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and other financial analyses as required.
  • Support ongoing accounting and finance priorities such as systems migration and financial statements preparation and audit.
  • Manage the day to day accounting and finance operations in the company, such as daily bank reconciliations.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including financial auditors, tax agents.
  • Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
We would love to get to know you if you have the following:
  • 3 - 6 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably with hands-on experience on Xero and/or NetSuite accounting systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • Comfortable working with large sets of data in order to maintain and perform monthly accounting activities.
  • Prior experience in technology or financial services industries will be strongly preferred.
  • Experience in regional or international markets preferred.
  • Strong verbal and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Passion for finance, technology and start-ups.
