We’re looking for an Operational Risk Manager who will be reporting directly to the Head of Operational Risk, this is a Second Line of Defence role under the Risk Management function.  The OR Manager is responsible to drive and oversee the effective implementation and governance of Operational Risk Management (ORM) and Business Continuity Management (BCM) while aligning them to the Bank’s overall digital strategy.

 

The day-to-day activities:

Assist with developing and implementing ORM and BCM Framework and all associated policies and procedures and ensure they are effectively embedded into the Bank’s control environments. 

Collaborate extensively with the stakeholders (e.g. Technology, Information Security, Product, Compliance and Operations teams) to ensure systems/processes are built with adequate controls and clear accountability. 

Keep abreast of the regulatory landscape in Singapore related to ORM and BCM to ensure regulatory requirements are embedded in the relevant processes.

Ensure adequate BCM governance including updated and effective Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and Business Impact Analysis (BIA) for all business units and functions.

Lead the testing of bank-wide and regulatory BCP exercises and BCM activities including its related planning and reporting.

Represent and report all BCM matters in the relevant committees.

Conduct Ops Risk Assessment (ORA) for material changes resulting from high-impact projects to manage potential change delivery risks. 

Conduct training activities to Business & Functions to promote the understanding of ORM and BCM and enhance risk/ control awareness.  

Conduct the annual stress testing from Ops Risk perspective alongside with other functional leads, in terms of stress test and scenario programme, as part of ICAAP reporting.

ORM system: Liaise with technology partners and vendors to oversee enhancement requests and provide production support.

The must haves:

Bachelor's degree or higher from a globally recognized university. 

With minimum 10 years of experience in Operational Risk Management, Internal Audit, Compliance, BCM and familiar with risk management concepts and tools. 

Preferably with retail banking experience across functions such as (but not limited to) Product Development, Fraud Risk Management, Credit Risk Management, Outsourcing Management, AML/Sanctions/CDD, Middle/ Back Office Operations & Business Continuity Management.

Good understanding of risk management, technology and retail products in the digital banking space.

Good knowledge of technology and consumer banking related regulations.  Prior regulatory exposure is a plus and familiar with related MAS regulations such as MAS Notices (e.g. 634, 626, 635), Guidelines on Risk Management Practices, Business Continuity Management & Outsourcing.

Experience in deploying risk assessment techniques using data analytics. 

Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills and ability to manage relationships with senior management.

Confident, independent, self-driven and highly motivated individual who can work well in a startup VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, Ambiguous) environment. Should have a deep desire to excel and develop a career in a fast growing tech company. Should have demonstrated integrity and respect in the performance of their duties.
