Senior Manager / Manager, Risk Policy and Supportability

As a key team member within Risk, you will formulate risk policies and serve as the subject matter expert on financial partner and card scheme rules and requirements. You will advise cross-functional teams on financial partner requirements, and help to quickly evaluate new sales prospects or products to align with partner requirements. This will require a balanced approach to achieve business objectives within risk appetite.

Responsibilities:

• Develop a policy framework for internal teams and to share with external partners outlining Airwallex's risk appetite and review process
• Advise Product, Engineering, and Commercial teams in respect of financial partner requirements
• Collaborate with Commercial teams on exploring, understanding, and accommodating time sensitive business opportunities
• Set Risk policy for business and merchant supportability
• Define Restricted and Prohibited Business Lists
• Capture the additional review or due diligence requirements to support Restricted businesses
• Identify card scheme rules and partner requirements that could impact compliance
• Provide guidance and ongoing assistance to internal teams, including Underwriting, Sales, Account Management, around Card Scheme rules and requirements
• Create guidelines, checklists, and other aids for Sales teams to quickly evaluate new prospects in terms of scheme compliance and partner requirements

Qualifications:

• At least 6+ years of experience in payments-related roles, risk, or compliance function；
• Experience in policy formulation;
• Strong knowledge of Visa and Mastercard and other financial partner rules and product requirements;
• Business savvy and good judgement, ability to exercise flexibility and balance trade-offs;
• Good communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels, and effectively convey the importance of policy or compliance requirements;
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment;
• Excellent team player capable of learning and sharing knowledge in a team environment;
• Ability to build collaborative working relationships with risk products, compliance team and sales team.
