Job Title: Data Scientist (6 months Contract)
Reporting to: Data Science Manager, Forward Engineering

Location: Singapore


Our ideal candidate

We seek a data scientist with a profound interest in both theoretical and applied machine learning, thriving in a dynamic work environment. The ideal candidate should possess 2+ years of experience in the predictive analytics/forecasting realm, having successfully tackled real-world challenges. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in transactional anomaly prediction and operational risk modeling. As this role involves client interaction, excellent communication skills are essential. The candidate should be adept at articulating complex models and analyses in a clear and concise manner.


Responsibilities:

  • Thoroughly understanding business challenges, determining predictive objectives, and articulating the value proposition to clients.
  • Analyzing vast, intricate, multidimensional datasets to derive business-relevant features
  • Grasping the mathematical underpinnings of algorithms and making informed choices among them.
  • Applying advanced techniques such as stacking and ensemble methods to enhance model accuracy.
  • Converting data access, transformation, and movement requirements into actionable functional specifications and designs.
  • Creating logical and physical data flow models for ETL applications.
  • Documentation and training for stakeholders.
  • Effective communication with clients to manage expectations.


Desired Technical Requirements:


  • Proficiency in Python for developing production-ready code.
  • Experience with Scala is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with big data technologies like Spark and Hadoop is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of SQL or other database systems.


Desired Non-technical Requirements:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
