Job Description


  • Posses excellent risk advisory experience to lead the ORM team, in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Own, develop and drive the Bank’s Operational Risk Management Framework
  • Define and manage operational risk policies, standards and processes, in accordance with the Bank’s lines of business, risk appetite, tolerance thresholds, and regulatory requirements.
  • Escalate material / significant risk issues to Board Committees or senior management on a timely basis.
  • Perform operational risk identification and assessment in business units for new products, processes and initiatives, as well as to conduct periodic reviews to ensure adherence with the Bank’s standards.
  • Integrate risk management practices into processes, systems and work culture.
  • Optimize the operational risk management framework for the Bank to achieve desired outcomes while ensuring highest customer satisfaction, cost efficiency, and compliance with the bank’s policies and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Own tools, GRC system and risk data for the domain. Work closely with business, product and technology teams to continually improve technology capabilities.
  • Perform monitoring and investigations, as well as reporting on the domain.
  • Build and maintain healthy relationships with senior levels of management, stakeholders, and be a trusted risk advisor/ operational risk subject matter expert on control related matters.
  • Conduct training or awareness sessions.
  • Conduct investigations either individually, as part of the broader risk and compliance teams, or jointly with law enforcement, regulators or other government agencies.
  • Lead a team of operational risk managers/ analysts
  • Keep abreast of MAS regulations relating to FIs and banks.
  • Familiar with data analytic initiatives (rule-based/ ML) and business priorities (with associated emerging/ inherent/ residual risks), so as to translate them into rules using data to enhance risk monitoring.


  • Minimum 15 years of relevant hands-on operational risk experience in the consumer banking/ financial service sector; other experiences like internal audit & control functions will be favorably considered.
  • Possess strong leadership skills, confidence in dealing with regulators, senior stakeholders particularly the Management Committee, Management Risk Committee and Board Risk Committee.
  • Take accountability and possess the courage to challenge risk-decisions made by senior stakeholders, from a 2nd line of defence perspective so as to uphold the value of integrity and be able to discharge responsibility professionally.
  • Problem-solving, positive and constructive attitude is a must.
  • Strong ability in dealing with ambiguity and operating in a fast-paced digital environment.
  • Structured, factual and data-driven. Ability to deep dive into data and elaborate clear and synthetic insights.
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good presentation and report writing skills.
