We’re looking to add a System Engineer in Singapore. The position will be based in Univac our site office at Woodlands.


As a System Engineer, you will:


Join our team and provide technical assistance to end-users and ensure the smooth operation of our organization's IT systems.

You will be part of the team to responsible for resolve IT technical issues, offer guidance and solutions to users facing challenges with computer systems, software, hardware, and other technology-related matters.

As a System Engineer, you will work within a team in maintaining and optimizing our organization's IT infrastructure to ensure the smooth operation and reliability of computer systems, servers, and network components with support from Group IT.


End-user Support:

  • Installation, configuration and deployment of hardware and software applications for end-users, ensuring optimal functionality.
  • Provide technical assistance to end-users, resolving hardware, software and network-related issues promptly and effectively.
  • Respond to support requests through the ticketing system and ensure timely issue resolution.
  • Guide users on the proper use of applications, software, and hardware devices.
  • Escalate complex technical issues to 2nd level IT support or relevant teams for further investigation and resolution.
  • Provide remote assistance to end-users, diagnosing and resolving technical problems efficiently, unless on-site support is necessary.

User Account Management:

  • Manage user accounts, licenses, passwords, and access rights to various systems and applications.
  • Reset passwords and assist users with account-related issues.

System Administration:

  • Perform regular maintenance tasks on servers, operating systems, and other IT infrastructure components to ensure their optimal performance.
  • Monitor system resources/performance, diagnose issues, and implement necessary optimizations to enhance efficiency.
  • Assist in the planning, testing, and implementing of system upgrades, patches, and new software/hardware deployments.
  • Set up and manage data backup solutions to ensure data integrity and facilitate disaster recovery in the event of system failures.

Network Administration:

  • Configure and manage network devices, such as routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points, to maintain reliable and secure network connectivity.
  • Monitor network performance, traffic, and connectivity to identify and resolve issues promptly.
  • Collaborate closely with the Cybersecurity team to swiftly contain cybersecurity incidents, restore any affected systems, and take preventive measures to avoid further damage.

Collaboration and Escalation:

  • Collaborate with 2nd level support or relevant Group IT teams to escalate and resolve complex technical issues to ensure smooth operations and timely resolutions.
  • Collaborate with 2nd level support or relevant Group IT teams to implement Group IT projects.

What skills and experiences are we looking for?

  • Degree in Information Technology or equivalent.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network-related issues efficiently.
  • Experience in Windows Server platform and service such as DNS, DHCP, GPO, Active Directory and WSUS. Knowledge in VMWare virtualisation would be added advantage.
  • Experience in managing network equipment in a multi-vendor environment.
  • Well versed in latest technological trends, network concepts, setup and maintenance of on-premise data center, SD-WAN, network performance monitoring, VoIP , Routing Protocols and network security.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Good EQ and tactful at providing IT support to end-users of all levels.
  • Proactive and self-motivated with a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
