Job Description
Role Description

This position is part of the Global Technology team and has primary accountability for the delivery of all Infrastructure services including Infrastructure and Data Services within the region, ensuring that availability, stability and performance of FNZ's platforms meet or exceed target KPI's.

This role is to lead a team of network engineers and is responsible for providing high quality and timely IT infrastructure support to ensure the availability, stability, and performance the FNZ datacentres, platforms and corporate systems. Below are some of the major systems but not limited to.

The role involves on-prem Networking and Cloud (Azure/AWS) with FNZ undergoing a migration to cloud-based solutions in the short and medium term. The role includes element of building and supporting network Infrastructure as Code particularly for deploying changes and upgrades to existing systems.

There is also a requirement to provide support (as part of a wider team) for physical/on-prem networking technology in our DCs, including
  • Checkpoint (essential)
  • Cisco routing and switching (essential; minimum CCNP)
  • Some understanding of Cloud (essential; at least Azure/AWS Fundamentals)
  • F5 LTM/GTM/APM/ASM (highly desired)
  • Terraform (preferred)
  • Aruba (essential)
  • Fortigate and Forcepoint firewalls (preferred)


On top of the above operational role, this role is required to support the below:
  • Be the escalation contact for APAC Network team for office and non-office hours.
  • Network infrastructure related finance matters.
  • Manage network infrastructure related initiatives.
  • Support client working hours in APAC for all matters of setup, on-boarding and BAU support (mandatory)
  • Conduct disaster recovery drill.
  • Support process improvement.
  • Document processes.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Comply with the corporate policies, Safety and Soundness and regulatory guidelines.


Specific Role Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management
  • Inspires trust, loyalty, and commitment throughout the team.

Budget Management
  • Delivery of regional targets.
  • Manage operational and capital expenditure within budget.
  • Delivery of network infrastructure and Production Support services on time and within budget.

Availability:
  • Ensure Platform Availability and Performance to support KPI compliance in line contracted SLAs.

Incident & Problem Management
  • Managing incidents, analysis and response to issue log items, problems and root cause analysis.
  • Actively looking to minimise the number of incidents.
  • Managing the response time for all Incidents within SLAs for each client.
  • Ensuring temporary and permanent fix times are within SLAs for each client.

Capacity Management
  • Ensure the capacity of the IT Infrastructure is able to deliver agreed Service Level Targets in a cost effective and timely manner.
  • Maintain capacity plans as appropriate.

Infrastructure Services & Data Services
  • Ensure Availability, Stability, Performance and Security of FNZ's Production, development and test infrastructure.
  • Manage portfolio of Infrastructure Services
  • Manage infrastructure projects and upgrades.
  • Ensure adequate infrastructure monitoring is in place.
  • Action infrastructure Service Requests.
  • Build and support of new environments.
  • Ensure infrastructure disaster recovery plans are up to date.
  • Ensure that the FNZ network and systems are internally and externally secure by ensuring existing policies and procedures are adhered to and documented for audit purposes.


Release Management
  • Define and maintain the Release Management process, in conjunction with other stakeholders.
  • Define and maintain the Release Committee/ Change Advisory Board scope.
  • Define and maintain the acceptance criteria/quality gates for a release to be accepted into Production.
  • Manage the deployment of approved releases, in line with the agreed schedule.
  • Maintain and enhance automated release processes and scripts.
  • Ensuring that all production, dev and test releases meet the agreed approval criteria before accepting a release.
  • Ensuring the successful deployment of approved releases.

Environment Management
  • Maintain environment build standards with automation if possible.
  • Maintain inventory of all current environments.
  • Establish an environment booking system to capture a forward schedule of environment usage from the project teams.
  • Ongoing environment management
  • Ensure availability of environments based on the schedule and requirements provided by the project teams.

Strategy formulation and implementation
  • Contribute to the formulation and refinement of the Global Technology team vision and strategy.
  • Ensure the Production Support and Infrastructure Team activities are fully aligned to the FNZ and Global Technology vision and strategy.
  • Work with Senior Management team to execute the strategy in a way that delivers successfully the teams' goals and objectives.

Performance:
  • Ensure that performance SLA's are met every month for systems that you are responsible for by monitoring system performance, capacity and growth; suggesting and implementing performance improvements and hardware/software refreshes.

Information Security:
  • Ensure that the FNZ network and systems are internally and externally secure by following existing policies and procedures and documenting for audit purposes as required by AAF/ISO27001; implementing security projects; completing risk assessments and build guides for new and existing systems.

Business Continuity:
  • Ensure that FNZ-held data is secure and backed up by: ensuring that regular backups and made and are tested; participating in yearly BCP & DR tests; ensuring that any new build is in line with company requirements and departmental policy for resilience and availability; documenting resilience and backup plans for all new builds.

Training:
  • Develop professional and technical knowledge and skills. Provide technical advice and mentoring within the team.

Project Work:
  • Implement projects to meet project timelines and deadlines

Budget:
  • Recommend changes to the IT manager that could reduce costs in your areas of responsibility
